My name is Jessica Donn Burch. I grew up in small town Oklahoma with a story that has taken time to process and continues to heal. Accepting and choosing to believe in Jesus early in high school created a firm foundation. My family is beautiful. I am thankful for a husband Andrew, my best friend, a couple of kids Kohen and Jaunie, they keep me grounded and an energetic walking partner, Samson. We have been in ministry since getting married in 2006. Traveling around US and Canada is the greatest privilege. I enjoy meeting people, all the food and a good road trip. Couple of my favorites were going from West Virginia to Edmonton Alberta, or California to Florida, ohhh Oklahoma to Oregon, another good one.
My wellness journey started in 2014, I started getting more serious about my health. I could no longer blame my daughter two years after her birth. 2015, our family was struck by many losses that threw the grief blanket over our lives for many years. 2016, God met me on my mat. It was my first time in a legit yoga studio and I will never forget the effort given, then the sweetest embrace and release by the end. I left that day on a new mission to figure out how God intertwined in this ancient practice. It would take over a year of prayer and preparation before becoming certified.
The picture above is from the transformative year I got certified. Stepping out in faith, I began teaching classes and went on my very first missions trip to Ecuador. I appreciate the time God allowed for this year to be extra special in understanding my calling and the deep passion He has given me to serve people along side Him. My first few classes were taught in a beautiful chapel where we were staying. See my blog for more details and pictures from this trip.
I believe in the principles and spiritual practices that are fine tuned through training and how close it brings me to God. The biggest piece to grasp is that improving overall wellbeing is more than a fitness decision, it’s a lifestyle commitment. I began to check in daily creating space for each area separately. You can too!
Practices and sessions provide a safe environment to building a life rooted in Gods word and create movement through the practice of yoga. I offer a free discovery call to hear your story and see how we can work together to improve your overall wellness.
